Edinburgh Eagles and Napier University Half Back Paddy Coupar has been named in Scotland RL Head Coach Steve McCormack's 24 man squad for the Rugby League World Cup in Australia.  Coupar has not played much for the Eagles in recent times following his spell on trial with Workington Town and has clearly benifited form playing at a higher level.

Eagles are also represented on the coaching staff with their Head Coach Angus McNab also going to Australia as part of McCormack's staff for the tournament.

SIMMO ON THE MOVE

In other news, Aran 'T-Rex' Simm (see photo below) has found work down in Rugby and is re-locating down there.  Simmo has done a massive amount of work for the Eagles over the last 5 years and his contribution will be missed by everyone.  The committee had hoped for a transfer fee for the giant prop.  Sadly no rugby clubs in the area were interested so Aran has been sold to the Taj Mahal Tandhori in Rugby for 2 popadoms, a pilau rice and any chicken dish from the menu in the hope he makes it his local of choice.
