Editors blog

Well it's certainly been some time since the first of my 'regular' blogs. I guess I didn't anticipate the amount of time and dedication a new magazine would take.

I'd like to thank those people who have helped us reach a prelaunch milestone of 6 issues! Most of these people know who they are but I'll still mention them.

James for all your hard work and countless hours of writing, editing and ideas. Louise for your hard work behind the scenes on sales, invoicing and advertising. Glen for your great work with the NRL interviews and articles. Giovanni for your dedication to London RL. Tony for the every popular Eye on Rugby League. Jim for your work on the World Cup and the recently launched RLC pages. Andy, not only for your interesting page but also your general help, support and encouragement.

I'd also like to thank each and every person who has brought a copy of Code13. Some people I know have brought every issue and I thank you for doing so. Also the clubs (big and small) who have shown faith and stocked Code13.

As we look to establish Code13 we have a number of exciting plans in place, which I'll keep under my hat for the time being, but the future of Code13 looks bright and thoroughly exciting.

Anyway, back to the Rugby League! It's been a fantastic season so far, not only in the engage Super League but also in the National Leagues (including the RLCN) and the RLC competitions. The engage Super League season has been unpredictable as ever with 3 coaches getting the boot in the last three weeks despite clubs having no threat of relegation! Not to mention the Catalans Dragons fine form, Hull FC's lack of form and Quins RL unpredictability!

The licence debate has continued to dominate the headlines, with clubs set to find out their fate some time in July (or maybe August depending on the RFL) we'll know soon enough the make up of the elite competition.

The World Cup has also begun to gather pace but it's likely that this will gain further momentum towards the end of the Super League and National League seasons as the teams begin to release more information on warm-up games and squads.

That's all for now,  as ever we'd love to hear your feedback on our magazine, email me at info@code13magazine.co.uk

So we'd thought we'd start a blog, not only about Code13 but also about Rugby league in general. As ever we'd love to hear your feedback on our magazine, email me at info@code13magazine.co.uk.

So our first magazine launched on the 25th of January and the feedback has been quite amazing. Not only have we had comments from several readers, so of which will be shown in issue 2, we have also received feedback from Gareth Ellis along with receiving photos of players and coaches with issue one in hand!

I'd like to thank everybody for their great feedback and encouragement, we read ever email and letter that comes in and act on the feedback where possible. We've also introduced a txt number for feedback, comments and your photos so txt or send us now, 07717 738 230.

Well what can I say about the season so far, the Super League is as exciting as ever, however I really don't like the disjointed start to the season with the round 4 game (Leeds vs Hull Kr) being played out of sync. Surely the game would have more impact with a full round of fixtures being played on the opening weekend. That said I can see why this game is played early, making space for the World Club Challenge.

Away from Super League the preliminary rounds of the Northern Rail Cup have been underway for a couple of weeks now and continue through to mid March, a review of the opening rounds can be seen in issue 2. We also have a full review of the National League competition, both National League 1 and 2.

As I write this it's the eve of the Carnegie World Club Challenge, can Leeds bring home the silverware, not only for the club but for country too. I for one think they can, Leeds by 8.
